In 2023, Spantech was tasked by Tarmac Aerosave to construct an MRO hangar in Teruel, Spain, designed to house an Airbus A380. The project required a 95-meter free span and a 29-meter height. Starting in February 2024, it was completed by July, taking just 5.5 months. Spantech delivered a turnkey solution from planning to installation. The hangar features Thermoroof technology for insulation and natural light, a high-tech fire protection system, and a custom vertical fabric door with year-round operability. Custom containers maximize interior office space, and Spantech also installed electrical, heating, cooling, safety lines, and compressed air systems. Engineered to withstand snow and high winds at 1000 meters elevation, the frame was pre-assembled in Germany and Poland, lifted into place, and fitted with 45-ton doors. Off-site construction allowed for simultaneous site prep and assembly, reducing delays and costs while ensuring quality control, precision, and sustainability.
